Inspirational leadership

Monday, August 20, 2012

Leadership is a crucial component of success. You only have to observe the world around you to witness the lack of leadership at seemingly all levels. Are you leading from the front and by example? Are you leading through inspiration and positive spirit and energy or how you leading via intimidation and fear factor? Using the latter may yield you momentary results if any, but true leadership is inspirational, it makes your employees want to go the proverbial extra mile for you and your organization. It’s about taking that extra time to service that last customer and not bolting for the door at closing time. Inspirational leadership takes your business to the next level and it starts with you.

Monday, July 23, 2012

Knowledge is power. There’s no more important place to exemplify that than in small and mid-size businesses. Just because you have been doing something the same way for a long time and it’s been working out fine, doesn’t make it the most optimum way. Ensure that you allocate enough time in your day to day operations to research other sources for up to date information. You should of course check out your competition from time to time making sure you are well informed on what they are doing and how. Of course you don’t need to imitate them, just make sure you know how your product or solution measures up against theirs. You can also ta

The sell

Monday, May 21, 2012

Do all your employees understand that they are all in sales. Regardless of title or duties that they perform, everybody is in sales. Ask them directly if they are in sales. When they applied and interviewed for the position, they were in sales, anytime they need to ask for a raise, they are in sales. Anytime they need to express an opinion in everyday life, they are in sales. Sales is what everybody has to do, and if one is not selling, they are most likely buying. Ensure that nobody in your organization has a stigma attached to sales that is pervasive in many organizations big or small. Sell them on the sell, the ultimate success of the organization in a competitive marketplace.
